Each year the Catholic Men’s Fellowship groups of Kalamazoo sponsor a one-day conference for the gathering of Catholic men in our Diocese. (see '09 info below) In an environment with hundreds of men, speakers offer presentations on many issues men deal with in the contemporary world. In this “charged” atmosphere, men learn they are not alone in the struggle. It is a time of great spiritual encouragement. In short, this conference gives men the ammunition to do battle for God and live in peace in this world centered in secularism, and to do so with dignity.

The theme of the 2009 conference, “Walking with the People”, deals with how to understand the cultures in which we find ourselves in mission lands or on short term mission immersion trips. We measure our communication with other people not by what we say, but by what they hear. We look at ourselves in terms of our own culture which can be a tool to help us understand the values of other cultures and the message of the Gospel that is encoded in the each different culture. The annual day long retreat will be held February 28, 2009 at Holy Trinity Church in Lenexa, KS. Our keynote speaker will be Brain Patrick. Brian is a veteran radio and television newsman. He currently brings his talent to Catholic Radio on "The Son Rise Morning Show" specifically designed for a Catholic audience. The show is syndicated by EWTN radio each weekday morning.
